Multi-award winning indie game Consume Me is out now on iOS

The winner of 2025’s prestigious Seumas McNally Grand Prize, Consume Me, is out now on iPhone and iPad.

Developer Jenny Jiao Hsia announced the game’s release on Bluesky, adding: “I genuinely think this is the best way to play the game. And I had always envisioned Consume Me as a phone game because I’m not really a gamer…I made this game for my younger self who did not really play games on the computer.”

The game is a series of food-based minigames and time management tasks, strung together with a autobiographical narrative that depicts, as Hsia puts it, ‘having a bad time in high school’.

Hsia and collaborator AP Thomson started work on the game as undergraduates, and ten years later found themselves winning the top award at the Independent Game Festival in 2025, the Seumas McNally Grand Prize.

It also scooped the Nuovo award that same year, and picked up a social impact award at the Game Developers Choice Awards in 2026.

The Mac edition of the game is nominated for a social impact award at this year’s Apple Design Awards, too.
