Metacore hits $700m, 60m installs

The Finnish firm is one of Supercell’s portfolio companies and has raised €180m in funding to date. The company became profitable last year, and now has around 280 staff across its offices in Helsinki and Berlin.

Clash Royale’s US iOS DAUs jump to 2.75m

Clash Royale’s daily active users on iOS in the US have almost doubled since the end of June, when the game introduced a new mode called Merge Tactics.

That’s according to GameRefinery data, which shows Supercell’s title was attracting fewer than 1.5m DAUs around the time of the autochess-style mode’s release, but that figure has since climbed to over 2.75m.

Having earned about $12-15m per month throughout late 2024 and early 2025, July’s $54m in IAP earnings was Clash Royale’s best performance since December 2017, pushing it back into the top ten grossing games worldwide.

That performance was bettered last month as the game earned just over $68m to retain the number ten spot on August’s top grossing chart.

GameRefinery also reports that Dream League Soccer 2025 reached an all-time high in daily revenue (US iOS) in July 2025, when it entered the top grossing 50 chart for the first time.

This revenue spike coincided with the launch of a major update which added legendary players with stats based on their peak seasons, as well as the FIFA Club World Cup, which took place in the US this summer.

Good Job Games’ Match Villains also jumped from number 150 on the US iOS top grossing chart at the start of July to number 84 as of September 8.

The studio announced at the end of July that it had raised $60m to scale the villain-themed match 3 game globally.

It’s targeting pre-seed and seed rounds with a global strategy, but with a major focus on the US, Europe, Latin America, and Southeast Asia.

The King of Fighters AFK earns $1.4m in its first week

The King of Fighters AFK averaged $200k in daily IAP revenue during its first week of availability this month, generating $1.4m. Its biggest markets were South Korea, Japan and the US, according to Appmagic.

Based on SNK’s King of Fighters franchise, Netmarble’s game is a character collection idle RPG with a retro pixel art style. It racked up over 920k downloads in week one, for a global revenue per download of $1.56.

By way of comparison, Appmagic lists August’s top-grossing idle RPG as The Legend of the Staff and Sword, which earned $14m last month.

It was followed by MementoMori: AFKRPG ($5m), Legend of Mushroom ($5m), Silver and Blood: Requiem ($4m) and Capybara Go ($4m).

Pudgy Party tops 500k downloads

Featuring blockchain integration, the game is officially licensed from NFT brand Pudgy Penguins. Mythical is also behind web3 sports games NFL Rivals and FIFA Rivals.

Fable Town hits $9m in lifetime revenue

Fable Town has generated $9m in revenue since its global release last September, according to MGVC Publishing.

My.Games’ mobile publishing branch says the merge 3 title brought in $1m in revenue in both July and August.

Fable Town, which is developed by Reef Games Studio, has also topped 500k monthly active users and 100k daily active users.

MGVC says the game has achieved 3m lifetime installs, and ranks second by installs in the merge 3 genre as of August 2025, based on Sensor Tower data.
