Helsinki studio Bit Odd, founded by several Supercell veterans, has raised $18m from Griffin Gaming Partners.
The Wall Street Journal reports that the studio is making a multiplayer action game, and aims to launch the title on mobile next year. The studio originally started out as a consultancy shop, but pivoted into making its own games in 2020.
The new investment follows on from a previous funding round of $5.3m announced in 2022, which was led by Index Ventures, a previous backer of Supercell, King, Roblox and Dream Games.
Bit Odd’s co-founders are former Clash Of Clans game lead and art director Lasse Louhento, Clash universe game developer and artist Jani Lintunen and Clash lead artist Taneli Oksama. The trio worked together for over six years at Supercell on Clash titles.

Elsewhere on the founding team there’s ops specialist Teemu Halminen, who has previously held roles at Lightneer and Wargaming, former indie developer, Unity and Wargaming engineer Ruoyu Sun and developers Toni Pesola and Juuso Toikka.
“We started Bit Odd because we felt something was missing in gaming today,” said cofounder Lasse Louhento on LinkedIn. “We focus on designing games that stir the soul, embrace quirkiness and tap iunyio the emotional magic of gaming classics.”
Griffin Gaming Partners added: “In today’s world, where data and finance-driven strategies dominate game design, Bit Odd is charting a different course. Under the leadership of Lasse Louhento, they’re focusing on creating games that stir the soul and rekindle the sense of wonder we all felt when we first fell in love with gaming.”
