Homa cofounder Olivier Le Bas steps away

The cofounder of French hyper/hybridcasual firm Homa is leaving his fulltime role to build something new.

Olivier Le Bas cofounded Homa eight years ago alongside Daniel Nathan, and has served as chief revenue officer since the publisher’s inception. Nathan will continue to run the company as cofounder and CEO, it appears.

Le Bas announced on LinkedIn this morning that he is stepping away from running the business, but will remain a “key shareholder”. He noted in the post that Homa has grown to employ over 250 staff, launched over 100 games and has generated over 2bn installs.

“I’ve decided to step away from daily operations to return to what I do best and what fuels me the most, building from the ground up, while leaving Homa in the hands of an exceptional team with the vision, talent, and execution power to take it beyond anything we’ve achieved before,” he wrote on LinkedIn.

“Though I’m stepping back from the day-to-day, I’ll remain a key shareholder, supporting and cheering on the team as they take Homa to the next level.”

After November 2022’s $100m cash injection, Homa had raised an estimated $165m to push into game publishing and also dabble in web3. As we reported in August 2023, Homa cited flagship title Attack Hole as an example of how it was evolving its hypercasual games into longer-term, more IAP-driven bets.

Homa also told us in November 2023 that it had seen some success in porting its games over to Switch. Last year Homa was the 11th biggest mobile game publisher by downloads, according to Appmagic, with ~486m installs during 2024.
