Huuuge cuts 122 staff, halts new game development

Huuuge Games has announced it is to cut 29% of its workforce in a move that’ll affect 122 staff in total.

89 employees in Poland are affected. Huuuge offices in Finland and the Netherlands will also close.

The company said it has ‘discontinued new game development’, and it will also not invest any more into partner outfit Bananaz Studio.

The cuts are expected to be complete by the end of next month as Huuuge aims to “streamline operations and focus on its core social casino business”, it said in a statement.

“We deeply value the contributions of all our team members and are taking steps to support those affected through this transition,” said Huuuge CEO Wojciech Wronowski.

“While these decisions are never easy, they reflect commitment to streamlining operations and accelerating our ability to innovate. Huuuge remains a profitable company, and this marks a pivotal moment as we chart a path forward to deliver even greater value to our players, partners, and shareholders.”

The company added that it also has $125m in cash reserves as of Q3 2024, and plans to explore growth through M&A going forwards despite the cuts announced today.

Huuuge added that it has also appointed a new treasurer, Maciej Hebda, effective April 1 2025, who will also be Huuuge’s finance EVP.  The appointment follows the resignation of former treasurer Marek Chwalek.
