King: The Candy Crush maker has hired Eric Bowman as its new chief technology officer. He joins from TomTom, where he was CTO, though he is also an advisor to many companies in the tech space. He replaces King’s former CTO Steve Collins, who has left King to pursue other opportunities.

Meanwhile, King has also promoted Javier Barnes to principal product manager. He joined the company in 2021 as Candy Crush Saga’s lead game designer.

Scopely: The Monopoly Go maker has just hired Bobby Loya as senior vice president, head of studios business development and developer relations.

Loya joins from Activision Blizzard, where he led business development for its many studios and was part of the leadership team that launched Call of Duty: Mobile with Tencent and Timi. He also oversaw the acquisition of Digital Legends, which went on to help create Warzone Mobile.

Also at Scopely, Playtika and Supersonic vet Omer Ben Horin has joined as the director of product performance for its billion-dollar smash hit Monopoly Go.

Supercell: Maurice Kroes has joined the Brawl Stars team as its new producer. He has previously worked at Bossa Games and Vela Games.

Sybo’s Orup and Frøhlich, Trailmix’s Tong, Mclean and van Geest.

Sybo: King veteran Niklas Orup is the new game director of Subway Surfers. In his previous role, he headed up Bubble Witch 3 Saga for four years, and has also worked at Hero Gaming and Sony Mobile.

Sybo has also hired Thomas Frøhlich as its director of game design. He  moves over from Kiloo, where he had worked for almost 13 years.

Trailmix: The Supercell-backed studio has made five new hires. Graduate Chloe Tong joins as a junior technical artist, while Faye Mclean will serve as people and operations director.

Wooga and Guerrilla vet Jana Sloan van Geest comes on board as senior writer and narrative director and graduate Anna S has been snapped up as associate content designer. Finally, Damien Peter has joined as QA manager from Sports Interactive.

Trailmix’s Anna S and Peter, Homa’s Jarvis, Sandsoft’s Costan and Alberti.

Homa: The developer has appointed Hannah Jarvis as senior talent acquisition manager. Jarvis previosuly cofounded Haptic Recruit and has worked in recruitment for Athena Worlds, Quell and Eurostaff.

Sandsoft: Spanish industry vet Emanuel Costan is now creative director at Sandsoft. He has previously worked at the likes of Product Madness, Madlight Studio, Social Point and Gameloft.

Sandsoft has also hired Alexandre Alberti as a game developer, from Cut the Rope maker ZeptoLab.

Xsolla: Daisy Zhang is now regional marketing manager for China. She previously spent 18 months at WN Media Group as partner relations manager, having also worked at Aptoide and Catappult.

Xsolla’s Zhang, Raptor’s O’Leary, Playtika’s Frid, Jagex’s Allera, Griffin’s Loeb.

Raptor PR: The B2B games and tech agency has promoted Mark O’Leary to business development manager after two years at the firm.

Playtika: The Israeli mobile giant has promoted Maor Frid to data team lead. He joined the company in 2018 as a business analyst and has since worked as monetization lead, product monetization team leader and analytics program manager.

Jagex: Telecoms veteran Marc Allera has joined the RuneScape maker’s board as its chairman. He is the head of three of the UK’s biggest telecoms brands: BT, EE, and Plusnet. Back in the 90s, Allera was the GM of Sega and helped to launch the Dreamcast.

Griffin Gaming Partners: The venture capital firm has hired Aaron Loeb as an operating partner. He has previously been an advisor to Space Ape, as well as working at the likes of Scopely, Kabam and EA.

Hutch’s Salter, TikTok’s Catarino, Appfigures’ Nelson, Blizzard’s Shi, Dot Dot Fire’s Pavey.

Hutch: The F1 Clash maker has hired Nicholas Salter as a junior engineer. He previously worked as a game and AI programmer at Magellan Robotech, having graduated from Abertay University.

TikTok: Pedro Catarino has been promoted to senior partnership manager for TikTok’s key gaming accounts in the EMEA region. Before joining TikTok, Catarino had worked at Snap.

Appfigures: Data.ai’s former senior director of market insights Randy Nelson is now head of insights and media relations at Appfigures. He joins shortly after Data.ai was acquired by Sensor Tower, having moved from the latter to the former in 2022.

Blizzard: Chase Shi has been promoted from director of product for Diablo Immortal to senior director of product manager for the franchise. He joined Blizzard in 2021 from Jam City, and had previously worked at Scopely, Firefly Games and Zynga.

Dot Dot Fire: The educational games specialist has made four new hires. Philip Horton comes on board as an executive producer, having previously worked at Epic Games on Fall Guys. New tech lead Laurie Little comes from Mediatonic and also worked on Fall Guys, as well as Gears Pop and Lego Fortnite.

New lead game artist Louise Kruse was previously a freelance artist, and former staff writer at B2B publication MCV Vince Pavey is now narrative designer and outreach leader.

Miniclip: The publisher has promoted Kemal Kilic and Nuno Rodrigues. Kilic joined Miniclip from Rollic as user acquisition team lead and has been promoted to senior UA lead. Rodrigues has been promoted to lead product manager, having joined in 2020.
