Mattel: Mobile game industry veteran Mike DeLaet has announced he is leaving his role as Mattel’s global head of digital gaming. He spent two years at the toy giant building its games presence, but has not confirmed where he is headed next yet.

Before his role at Mattel, DeLaet was SVP of strategic partnerships and Scopely, having also previously served as founder and CEO of Rogue Games and SVP at both Kabam and Glu.

Ubisoft: Guillaume Verlinden is now deputy chief mobile officer at Ubisoft, moving up from his role as CEO and MD of Ubisoft-owned Kolibri Games. He will still be running Kolibri in his new role, and has previously held senior positions at Tilting Point and Socialpoint.

Voodoo: The French developer and publisher has hired Francisco Bravo and Eduardo Selvero Neto. Bravo joins as general manager for Voodoo’s new midcore-focused studio from ZeptoLab, where he was head of midcore games. He’s also previously worked at the likes of Ten Square and Gameloft.

Neto has been hired as creative director for Voodoo’s Tarboosh Games, and was previously principal game designer at Play’n Go. He has also worked at Socialpoint and Cupcake Sweet Entertainment.

Paramount: The entertainment giant has appointed Jennifer Sharp its VP of business development. She joins after almost five years at Activision Blizzard, most recently as VP of mobile commercial partners. In her new role, Sharp is working to bring some of the “best film and TV IP” to games.

Epic Games: Comms industry veteran Catherine Channon has joined the Fortnite maker as senior communications consultant. She returns to games after 18 months as SVP of global communications for travel company Hurtigruten Expedition. Channon has previously worked for the likes of EA, Warner Bros, Blizzard, NCSoft and Take-Two.

Appmagic: The data firm has hired its first head of content in Andrei Zubov. Before moving to Appmagic, Zubov was editor-in-chief at InvestGame, and also spent three years at MGVC as business development manager.

Xsolla: The games services giant has appointed Cathleen Nilson as its chief financial officer. She comes on board from Kami Vision where she was an EVP and CFO having previously worked at Turing.com, Samsung and Google in finance roles.

Epic’s Channon, Appmagic’s Zubov, Xsolla’s Nilson, Zynga’s Alam, Wildcard’s Demirel.

Zynga: The Take-Two-owned firm has hired Md Zeeshan Alam as game designer. He joins from Kwalee where he had worked for three-and-a-half-years. Prior to that he founded hypercasual games firm Khelstreet.

Wildcard: The classic games firm has hired Ahmetcan Demirel as lead product manager. Previously he worked as product manager for FRVR and a product and publishing manager for Falco.

Dots.eco: The environment-focused platform has hired Franco Carbosiero as its gaming director. He joins following over four-and-a-half years as a senior account executive at Data.ai and seven-plus years at Amazon UK as a sales manager.

Gamelight: The marketing firm has made a trio of hires in Xiaowen J, Dennis Baumann and Sabrina Bisaillon.

Xiaowen J has come on board as a senior account manager having spent over five-and-a-half-years at app growth firm Remerge. Baumann joins as finance manager having worked at Pentax and Deloitte. Finally, Bisaillon has been hired as a graphic designer.

RallyHere: The cross-platform live games firm has hired Jean-Francois Tremblay as director of business development. He previously worked at i3D.net, Edgegap and Nutaku in bizdev roles.

Roblox: The UGC platform announced as part of its financials last week that CFO Michael Guthrie is stepping down. He will stay on at the firm until a replacement is found.

Redline Games: The Indian mobile studio has hired Peter Thomson as a game developer. Previously he worked as a Unity developer at MediaPro International.

Trailmix Games: The Supercell-backed developer has promoted Said Yilmaz to senior user acquisition manager. He joined as a UA manager in May 2022 having previously worked at Kolibri Games.

Homa: The publishing platform has promoted Valentin Boucard to head of launch ops. He joined the company in 2023 as associate director for live games, and previously worked at Voodoo and Ubisoft.

BoomBit: Mateusz Paszkiewicz has been promoted to growth lead. He joined the firm in 2022 having previously worked in UA for Digital Melody Games and Fkolo.

Kwalee: Waqas Khan has been promoted to lead technical product manager. He has worked at the company since August 2023 when he joined as a senior product manager, and was promoted to technical product manager six months later.

Flick Games: Katie Thompsett is now head of communications and PR at the Flick Solitaire maker. She has worked at the firm since 2020 having joined as a PR comms consultant.
