Trailmix: The Supercell-backed developer has made two new hires. Mischa Arbess has joined as a product designer on the back of almost four years as lead UI/UX designer at Voxels Studio. Frances Wakefield-Harrey, meanwhile, has been brought in as a senior writer having worked at the likes of nDreams, The Chinese Room and Fusebox Games. 

Supercell: The Brawl Stars giant has hired Niek Tuerlings as a game designer through the company’s Sparks program, which we exclusively revealed back in March.  Previously he has worked at the likes of Mootlit Games, Wooga and Voodoo.

The Clash of Clans maker has also hired Karan Salaria as a business lead. he joins from Socialpoint, where he was game lead and director of product, and he has also served in product roles at Scopely and PlaySimple Games.

Trailmix’s Arbess and Wakefield-Harrey, Supercell’s Tuerlings and Salaria, Unity’s Kermanizadeh.

Unity: The engine giant has promoted Rambod Kermanizadeh to director for software engineering. He has worked at the company for eight years now, previously as senior software engineering manager. Before joining Unity, he spent over three years at IBM.

Nordeus: The Take-Two owned developer has made a slew of new hires. Daniel Mottaghi has joined as a producer having spent over five years at French giant Ubisoft. Nina Rakoniac as been hired as a QA engineer, while Mileta Jovanovic and Aleksandar Protić have both been brought on board as junior QA software engineers. All three have previously completed four-month internships at Nordeus in this department.

Stefan Krstovic has come on board as a business analyst, having held positions at the University of Belgrade and Fonis. Marko Stevankovic has joined as a data engineer, moving over from Vroom.

The firm has made three hires to its engineering team. Mateja Milošević has joined as a software engineer having previously worked at Ubisoft Belgrade and United Cloud. Meanwhile, Jovan Lekić has been hired as a junior software engineer following a seven month as a software engineer internship at Strong Network. Last up is Ognjen Neskovic, who has joined as a junior animation engineer; this is their first position in the games industry.

Finally, Jiyoon Park has been brought in as a user acquisition manager, having previously served at MWM and Outplay.

Apple: The iPhone giant has announced that chief financial officer Luca Maestri is stepping down from his position as of January 1, 2025. He will be replaced by 11-year Apple vet Kevan Parekh, who is currently VP of financial planning. Maestri has been CFO since 2014 and will be moving into a different job at the firm.

These moves come alongside the incoming restructure of the App Store team, following the departure of longtime boss Matt Fischer, who will leave the tech giant in October. As we reported last week, Carson Oliver and Ann Thai will step up to replace Fischer, with Carson assuming control of of the native App Store and Thai in charge of a new group spun up to oversee third party app stores.

1UP Ventures: Industry veteran Emily Greer is joining VC outfit 1UP ventures as a partner. She is best known for founding games platform Kongregate, which she ran for 13 years up until 2019, before she moved on to found mobile developer Double Loop Games. Greer has also been a board member at the likes of Hiro, Toya and Playfab.

Mobidictum: The events firm has snapped up Emre Çakan as a marketing coordinator. He previously worked in digital marketing and business development in a freelance capacity and in-house at the likes of Subscrible and Prometheus Studios.

Redline Games: The Indian studio has hired Shubham Kumbhar as a game developer. He previously spent eight months as a Unity developer at Simbott and before then completed a six month internship at Myracle.io.

MAF: The marketing platform has brought Berkay Avcı on board as a business development manager. He joins from Steel Media, where he was a biz dev consultant, and previously spent almost three-and-a-half years at events firm Mobidictum.

Huuuge Games: Daniel Jędrzejczyk has been promoted to head of product, stepping up from CRM operations manager.

Gamelight: The UA firm has hired Salman Salim and Ömer Yakabagi as business development representative and business development manager respectively. Salim has previously worked at AppSamurai and Reliz, while Yakabagi joins with experience from Gravite, ExMox and AdsYield.

Amazon vet Cevdet Ustun has also been hired as an account manager, while Zahit Dereli joins the company’s software development team as a QA specialist.

Avow: The ads specialist has promoted Guénolé Le Gall to VP of revenue. He joined the company in 2023 as VP of client strategy having previously spent over seven years at Aiizo heading up international sales strategy and development.

Xsolla: The payments specialist has expanded Serena Lipscomb‘s remit. Previously she was public relations manager for Europe, but she is now handling the EMEA region. She joined Xsolla in April on the back of a four year stint at Spark.
