Fortnite (Epic Games Sweden)
Apple rejected Epic Games’ latest build of Fortnite, it turns out.
A full week after Epic submitted Fortnite to App Review, Apple still had not approved the battle royale for release. As many have noted in the last week, Apple publicly claims that “90% of submissions are reviewed in less than 24 hours”.
And of course, Tim Sweeney has had plenty to say on the matter on X, from directly asking Apple CEO Tim Cook why Fortnite hasn’t been approved yet to dunking on the many Fortnite clones Apple has approved for release on the App Store in Fortnite’s absence.
At the time of writing, Fortnite is now unavailable for those that have downloaded the game through the EU-only Epic Games Store. More to come, we’re sure.
Rainbow Six Mobile and The Division Resurgence (Ubisoft)
Ubisoft this week said that long-delayed mobile entries in its Rainbow Six and The Division franchises will be released during its current fiscal year, which ends in March 2026.
First-person shooter Rainbow Six Mobile has been in development for six years, with input from at least 11 Ubisoft studios and Tencent. Open-world third-person RPG shooter The Division Resurgence has been in closed beta testing since 2023.
Persona 5: The Phantom X (Sega)
This Persona 5 spin-off is a turn-based RPG featuring a new story and cast of characters. Pre-registration is now available on iOS, Android and Steam ahead of a June 26 release.
Idle Junkyard Tycoon (Ubisoft)
This idle tycoon game, from Ubisoft’s Kolibri Games, challenges players to transform trash into treasure. It’s out now on Android and iOS.
Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link (Square Enix)
After being delayed indefinitely last November, Square Enix has now cancelled this GPS-based action RPG for iOS and Android. It was originally announced in 2022 and had several closed beta tests.
“Although we worked hard on developing and adjusting the game in the hope that it would be enjoyed by lots of players, we determined that it would be difficult for us to offer a service that players would find satisfactory over a long period of time, leading us to the decision to cancel development,” said the Japanese publisher.
Dragonheir: Silent Gods (Level Infinite)
Mobile and PC players can pre-register now ahead of a global relaunch for this open-world strategic RPG from Tencent’s SGRA Studio. It promises reduced prices, streamlined progression, overhauled combat and redesigned season gameplay.
Free on Epic Games Store
The latest free Epic Games Store title is Happy Game, a psychedelic horror adventure from Botanicula maker Amanita Design. It’s available to claim until May 22 on PC, Android (worldwide) and iOS (in the EU).
