New game digest: Honkai: Nexus Anima, Destiny, Valorant, Unity Rewards(?), Hitman and more

Honkai: Nexus Anima (Hoyoverse)

This new game in the Honkai franchise mixes creature collection and “strategic adventure”, according to creator Hoyoverse. There’s no release window yet, but beta testers can sign up on iOS and PC from now until September 12.

Destiny Rising (NetEase)

Following 10m pre-registrations, this sci-fi RPG shooter, which takes place in an alternate timeline to Bungie’s Destiny titles, has launched worldwide.

Valorant (Riot Games)

Following its announcement in June 2021 and 60m pre-registrations, the mobile version of Riot’s FPS has debuted in China. Developed by fellow Tencent subsidiary Lightspeed Studios, it’s expected to expand to other regions at a later date.

Unity Rewards: Play & Earn (Unity)

This is a loyalty app which lets players unlock ‘Unity Coins’ for playing select games, which can then be redeemed for rewards including Amazon and PayPal gift cards. Appmagic data says it’s on Google Play in the US only.

Hitman World of Assassination (IO Interactive)

For $70, this promises the full World of Assassination sandbox experience previously released on PC and consoles, optimised with new touch controls and controller support. Alternatively, mobile players can purchase each of the game’s 24 mission locations individually for $2.99.

Might & Magic Fates TCG (Ubisoft)

This trading card game is a new entry in the long-running fantasy series Might & Magic. It’s coming to iOS, Android and Steam, with the App Store listing an expected release date of December 10.

Color Sort: Stack Sorting Game (Miniclip)

This turn-based colour stack sorting game has soft launched on iOS in selected markets, according to Appmagic.

Mongil: Star Dive (Netmarble)

Pre-registration has opened for this monster-taming action RPG, which is coming to the Epic Games Store on PC in the second half of 2025, and to mobile “soon” too.

Icy Hearts: Merge & Story (Microfun)

This renovation puzzle game has soft launched on the App Store in Canada, Appmagic reports.

Last Ride: Zombie War (FunPlus)

This squad-based vertical survival shooter has soft launched on Android in Canada, France, Australia and the UK, according to Appmagic.

Stormborn Era (FunPlus)

This pirate-themed strategy game has soft launched on Android in the Philippines, says Appmagic.

PropQwiz (Gray Matters Digital)

Players guess property prices to be in with the chance of winning real houses in this daily, live trivia title, which is out now.

Drop In (iKame Games)

This fast-paced colour hole puzzle game has soft launched on Google Play in selected markets, Appmagic reports.

Blue Protocol: Star Resonance (A Plus)

Mobile pre-registration has opened for this cross-platform anime MMORPG, which will officially launch this October. A closed beta test has also kicked off on PC.

Home on Wheels: Match 3 (37 Games)

This road trip match 3 game has soft launched on Android in the US, Brazil, India and the UK, Appmagic reports.

NFL Super Bowl Slots (Product Madness)

This is billed as the first-ever NFL-licensed free-to-play social casino mobile game. It’s out now on iOS and Android.

Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest games closing (Square Enix)

Final Fantasy Brave Exvius and Dragon Quest of the Stars will be closed down in Japan on October 31, shortly after each game’s 10th anniversary, PocketGamer reports. The global versions of both games have already ended service.

Goddess Order (Kakao Games)

This side-scrolling tag team pixel action-RPG will launch globally on September 24.
