New games now: Balatro, Sonic Rumble, Total War, Marvel Snap takes China, another Square RPG dies, more

Balatro Mobile (Playstack)

The addictive roguelike card game is making the leap to mobile on September 26. Pre-registration is live on the App Store and Google Play, where the title has a $9.99 price point. There’s also an Apple Arcade version launching on the same day.

Sonic Rumble (Sega)

Sega appeared to confirm that this new Fall Guys/Stumble Guys style game is going worldwide “this winter” in an interview published on GamesIndustry.biz.

Appmagic says it is currently in soft launch on iOS and Android in the Philippines, Colombia and Peru.

Total War: Empire (Feral/Sega)

Creative Assembly’s grand strategy games continue to make their way over to mobile through porting specialist Feral Interactive. Total War: Empire is the latest, and is set to debut on iOS and Android at some point this Autumn.

Marvel Snap (NetEase)

Griffin Gaming Partners has pointed out that this superhero card title is coming to China via NetEase. There’s no release date yet but it’s been approved to launch – a beta for the title is currently live.

Kingdom Hearts Union X Dark Road (Square Enix)

PocketGamer.biz reports that the Japanese publishing giant has delisted this mobile RPG on Google Play and the App Store, following on from the sunsetting of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius last week. 

Disney Step (Disney)

PocketGamer reports that this Japanese-only augmented reality title from the House of Mouse is coming out in spring 2025. There’s a beta period that is running until September 17.

Apple Arcade September/October Line-up

The subscription service is adding five new titles across September. As previously mentioned, Balatro is launching on September 26, ahead of NBA 2K25 Arcade Edition (2K Games), which is coming out on October 3.

That same day, restaurant sim Food Truck Pup+ (Game Start), feline adoption title Furistas Cat Cafe+ (Runaway) and chilled arcade game Smash Hit+ (Mediocre) are also launching on the service.

Wagmi Defense (Wagmi Game)

This anime-esque real-time strategy title is launching on December 12 on both Google Play and the App Store.

Unforeseen Incidents Mobile (Application Systems)

This point-and-click mystery title is launching on iOS and Android on September 12, five and a half years after its initial PC release.

Castle Crumble (Orbital Knight)

The Apple Arcade title has also now launched on the tech giant’s Vision Pro headset. 

Puzzle Sculpt (Schell Games)

This mixed reality puzzler is now live on Apple Vision Pro, via Arcade.

Spidersaurs (Wayforward/Crunchyroll)

This retro-inspired run-and-gun title is out now on the App Store via anime games subscription platform Crunchyroll.

Home Valley: Virtual World (Ingames)

This life simulator is out now on Google Play, with an iOS release slated within the coming months.

FAU-G Domination (Nazara Publishing)

Pre-registration is now live on Google Play for this Indian mobile shooter.
