New games now: Game of Thrones, Need for Speed, Assassin’s Creed, Dark and Darker, Skate and more

Game of Thrones: Legends (Zynga)

Pre-registration is now open for this Westeros-themed puzzle-RPG. The game is set to launch on June 17 on iOS and Android.

Need for Speed Mobile (Tencent)

Apple said during its WWDC keynote that Tencent and EA’s Need for Speed Mobile is coming “this fall”, and is one of the first games to use Apple’s new spatial audio tech.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows (Ubisoft)

Also in Apple’s WWDC keynote: Ubisoft’s Marc-Alexis Cote announced that the new Assassin’s Creed game, subtitled Shadows, coming to high-end iPads “later this year”. 

Dark and Darker Mobile (Krafton)

The Korean games firm has announced a global beta test for the RPG dungeon crawler. It’ll take place in August.

Candy Crush Saga (King)

The mobile smash hit is coming to a variety new app stores, including Huawei App Gallery, Samsung Galaxy Store and Xiaomi GetApps, thanks to a new distribution tie-up with Flexion.

Skate (EA)

EA said that console playtesting for its upcoming and eagerly-anticipated skateboarding game is set to take place in autumn 2024. Skate was announced in 2022 as a cross-platform PC, console and mobile game, but there’s no word on a release date yet.

Avatar Legends: Realms Collide (Tilting Point) 

Pre-registration for this upcoming 4x strategy game based on the smash hit anime series is live on Android and iOS. The App Store suggests an expected release date of August 28.

Disney Frozen Royal Castle (Budge Studios)

This digital doll house game based on the smash hit animated film is out now on iOS and Android, from kids specialist Budge. 

Battle Vision Network (CapyGames)

Acclaimed studio CapyGames, maker of Apple Arcade banger Grindstone, is working on a brand new PvP puzzle game that is set to launch in 2025. The mobile version is coming out via Netflix.

Curiosmos (Céline Veltman & the Silly Stars

This space sandbox game is set to come to both iOS and Android in early 2025.

Legend of Heropolis DX  (Kairosoft)

The latest DX release from the Japanese studio is this updated version of its 2016 superhero-themed city sim title. It’s out globally on iOS and Android.

Luna The Shadow Dust  (Application Systems Heidelberg)

Over five years after its initial Steam release, this animated point-and-click adventure is coming to iOS and Android at some point in 2024.

World Wizard Challenge (Pick Up and Play) 

This new release comes with three word and puzzle games, and is out now on iOS and Android.
