Second Dinner is seeking a new publisher for its flagship game Marvel Snap.
The card battler was rendered unplayable in the US this week as a result of the (brief) TikTok ban. Marvel Snap’s publisher, Nuverse, is also owned by TikTok’s parent company Bytedance, which meant the game was pulled from app stores and unplayable for those with the game installed already in the US.
Marvel Snap is now back online in the US following the outage, which came about as the US TikTok ban went into effect on Saturday night. Normal service resumed on TikTok the next day, but it has taken until last night for Marvel Snap to return.
As a result of this US-China instability – and potentially more to come – Marvel Snap creator Second Dinner said on X that it is now seeking a new publisher for the game.

“Marvel Snap is back online in the U.S. But to make sure this NEVER happens again, we’re working to bring more services in-house and partner with a new publisher,” it said. “This is the start of a new era for Marvel Snap.”
“We know this probably leaves you with even more questions than answers. We appreciate your patience, but in the meantime enjoy playing Marvel Snap. We’ll continue to update with more information as soon as possible!”
The California-based developer also said on X that it is working to fix “in-game purchasing errors” that players have reported since the game was back up and running again. The game’s web shop remains open and functional, it said.
