New games now: Kingdom Rush, Godzilla x Kong, Ellen’s gardening game, Greedy Wizards, Wildfrost, Apple Arcade releases and more

Here every Friday you’ll find big games gone global, fresh soft launches, the latest release dates and everything in between.

This week’s update is published in association with Metaplay:

Metaplay is a fully-extensible backend for making top-tier mobile games, with pre-built tech and tools to cover you from your first line of code right through to LiveOps and player support. Its new Managed Service plans start at just €995/month.

Kingdom Rush 5: Alliance (Ironhide)

Ironhide keeps on rolling with this latest entry in its flagship tower defence series. Kingdom Rush 5 is launching on July 25 and is in pre-order on iOS, Google Play and Steam now.

Godzilla x Kong: Titan Chasers (Tilting Point)

Pre-registration is now open for this Monsterverse MMO strategy game. It will be available on iOS and Android.

Ellen’s Garden Restoration (Storm8 Studios)

Ellen DeGeneres is back with another mobile game, having previously scored a hit with Heads Up. Ellen’s Garden Restoration is a match-and-decorate game from Storm8, which has experience with this kind of title from its previous efforts Property Brothers: Home Design and Home Design Makeover.

Greedy Wizards (Wildlife Studios)

This new dungeon crawler from Wildlife Studios-backed startup 8-Bit Bandits has gone into soft launch on iOS and Android. It is live in Sweden, Australia, Canada, Finland, Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, Ireland and the UK.

Wildfrost (Chucklefish)

This handsome indie roguelike deckbuilder is out now on iOS and Android, having been a cult hit on Steam.

Boxes: Lost Fragments (Snapbreak Games)

This puzzler that’s clearly very inspired by The Room games has been getting a little bit of a push from Apple. It’s out now on iOS and Android.

Albion Online (Sandbox Interactive)

A European open beta for this long-running fantasy free-to-play MMO is now live on iOS and Android ahead of its full release on April 29.

Bowling Club (BoomBit)

This physics-based PVP bowling game has been launched globally. It’s available on both Google Play and the App Store.

Goddess Order (Kakao Games)

Gamers can have a fresh look at gameplay for this upcoming side-scrolling RPG from Kakao and PixelTribe (above). The title is set to launch in the second half of 2024.

Apple Arcade in May

Three new titles will be making their Apple Arcade debut in May. They are Terry Cavanagh’s deckbuilding roguelike Dicey Dungeons+, Pomelo Company’s match 3 puzzler Summer Pop and retro-themed action game A Slight Chance of Sawblades, developed by Chinykian.

All three games will be launching on Apple Arcade on May 2. It also appears to be the first month since the service launched that there are no new original games on the release slate – you can read more on why that might be here
