Appcharge’s new chief strategy officer is David Stelzer, Xsolla’s former president and chief business officer.
Stelzer moves to Appcharge a couple of months after the webshop firm raised $58m in series B funding, bringing the total funding raised by the company to $89m. Appcharge says that it has processed over $500m in transactions in the last year.
Appcharge is headquartered in Tel Aviv and funded by IVP, Smilegate, Playrix, Gillot, Play Ventures, Supercell and more.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Stelzer had worked at Xsolla for a little under two years as president and chief business officer. Prior to that he worked at Epic Games for around eight years; his most recent role at the Fortnite maker was senior director for Unreal Engine business development and licensing. Stelzer has also worked in senior roles at Creative Artists Agency, Southpeak and Sega.
Appcharge CEO and cofounder Maor Sason said of the appointment: “David’s track record in scaling global gaming businesses and forging industry-defining partnerships is second to none. Adding David to our team underscores Appcharge’s growing strength and signals a major shift in the competitive landscape of global gaming payments.”
New chief strategy officer Stelzer added: “I’ve been fortunate to work across many areas of the games industry, but I’ve never seen a company with as much exciting momentum as Appcharge.”
