Here are the top mobile game downloads from last month, according to Appmagic data.
Appmagic’s estimates do not include numbers from China’s fractured Android market. There’s also commentary on April’s most notable trends from the top 20 and beyond below.
In between these monthly updates, you can also keep tabs on Appmagic’s top grossing and top downloads charts here.

Minecraft’s sudden appearance at the top of the charts is a surprise, to say the least – it has been the top premium game on iOS and Android for years.
But! It appears Mojang and Microsoft are experimenting with the business model, which is perhaps not too surprising considering the competition from Roblox (which was once considered by many to be a janky Minecraft-alike…).
Appmagic’s data suggests there was a free, Android-only trial last month that saw Minecraft leap up from its usual baseline of 4-6m downloads per month to a whopping 25.5m. And the spike was not in emerging markets only – there was a big surge in downloads in the US, the top market by installs in April, followed by India, Brazil, Mexico and Indonesia.
We’re asking Microsoft for more info on this one, as the tech giant doesn’t seem to have announced the free trial anywhere.

All that bumps regular chart topper Block Blast and runner-up Free Fire down one spot into second and third for the first time in several months. Both titles saw pretty typical numbers in April, though it should be noted a slight dip for Block Blast saw its lead over Free Fire shrink a little. They racked up 23.9m and 22.8m installs last month respectively.
Roblox also saw a fairly typical month of installs with 16.5m for April, but there are two similar titles either side of it in fourth and sixth: Miniclip’s Arrows and Learnings’ Arrows Go.
Both titles saw a big surge in downloads in April, rising up the charts 46 and 336 places respectively. India is the biggest market for both games, claiming about a quarter of April’s downloads total.

Steady performers Subway Surfers, Ludo King and Vita Mahjong each drop a few spots thanks to Minecraft and those arrows games.
But most notably Dream Games’ Royal Kingdom saw a sudden surge into the top ten, rising 20 spots month-on-month – April’s 12.1m downloads is its best month yet, narrowly ahead of August 2025’s big installs spike.
April’s top mobile game downloads: 11-20

12. Block Crazy Robo World Craft (Prokids Studio): 10.4m
13. Magic Tiles 3 (Amanotes): 10.35m
14. Magic Sort (Grand Games): 10.3m
15. Subway Surfers City (Miniclip): 10m

20. Tile Explorer (Learnings): 8.4m
The biggest riser in this bracket is Grand Games’ Magic Sort, which is up 32 places month-on-month, and seems to have been scaling aggressively since March. It was previously pulling in about 5m installs per month, but racked up double that last month.
As once might expect, Subway Surfers City dropped off a little after debuting in March’s top ten, while Voodoo’s Mob Control and RobTop’s Geometry Dash Lite each jumped back into the top 20.
Outside the top 20, Outfit7’s My Talking Angela 2 rose 26 places to 26th spot with 7.7m installs for April, TaTa Game Technology’s Jewel Coloring jumped 82 places into 31st with 7.1m installs for April, and Microfun’s Gossip Harbor also rose up through the rankings a chunky 21 places, hitting 35th spot with 6.9m downloads.
