Here are the most-downloaded games worldwide from last month, according to Appmagic data.
The top ten is below, with estimated downloads for April plus annotations that indicate each game’s month-on-month rise or fall in the rankings.
There’s also commentary on April’s most notable trends from the top 20 and beyond.

Pizza Ready isn’t simply top of the monthly download charts, it is far and away the biggest download of April, generating over 8m more installs that its closest contemporary Roblox.
In fact, the ~26.4m downloads it racked up in April is the and the largest monthly tally overall for any game for many months – the top title usually comes in at around 20m installs, on average.
It’s spectacular stuff and a considerable rise from the ~15m downloads the game attracted in March. Around 25% of April’s downloads came from India, with Brazil, Russia, Indonesia, Mexico, Turkey and the US on around 5-6% of installs.

Roblox continues to do Roblox things in second, its third straight month of attracting around 18m installs. And bravo to Digital Melody, which has scored a surprise hit with Supermarket Manager Simulator in third – apparently it is Brazilian players who love virtual retail management most, with over 70% of the game’s 17.6m downloads in April coming from that market.
Both Garena’s Free Fire games, the original and Max edition, rose up seven and eight places respectively last month thanks to a new update that appears to have resonated well. Downloads leapt up for both games on April 16 just as the update went live, which added new game modes, and giant mech dragons, which is apparently what Free Fire players want.
In between Garena’s battle royale games there’s Subway Surfers in fifth, which has a pretty typical month and is up slightly on February and March’s total. Ludo King is up two places to sixth, rising a little from the ~14m installs it posted in March (which itself was up a decent amount from February’s ~12m downloads).

Like many of the other games in the top ten, the rest benefitted greatly not from huge boosts in downloads but notable drops in installs from several of last month’s top performers (more on that later). For example: Hungry Games’ Block Blast is only up a little on last month’s total in terms of downloads but rose four places in the rankings, and Build A Queen was actually down on March’s numbers but up five places in the top ten list.
Supercell’s Brawl Stars stays in 10th, holding onto its place despite a month-on-month drop of around 2m downloads compared to March’s spectacular gains.
April’s top mobile game downloads 11-20:
11. My Talking Tom 2 (Outfit7): 9.9m
12. Wood Nuts & Bolts Puzzle (ABI Games Studio): 9.7m
13. Moto Rider, Bike Racing Game (Zego Studio): 9.5m
14. 8 Ball Pool (Miniclip): 9.3m
15. Race Master 3D (SayGames): 9.3m
16. Wood Nuts & Bolts, Screw (Zego Studio): 9.2m
17. Candy Crush Saga (King): 9.1m
18. PUBG Mobile (Tencent): 8.8m
19. Left or Right: Magic Dress Up (ABI Games Studio): 8.7m
20. 欢乐钓鱼大师 / Happy Fishing Master (Ark Game): 8.7m

Several games from March’s top ten crashed out of the top tier in April, including Wood Nuts & Bolts Puzzle (down five places), 8 Ball Pool (down 10), Left or Right: Magic Dress Up (also down 10) and, most notably, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile which crashed a mighty 50 spots from last month.
My Talking Tom 2, Moto Rider, Race Master and (the other) Wood Nuts & Bolts game were also up in the rankings month-on-month, and it’s worth noting Happy Fishing Master in 20th spot, which generated 8.7m installs in April despite only being released on iOS in China.
Conversely, Dream Games’ Royal Match has tumbled out of the top 20 for the first time since around its launch, with April’s download total of 8.5m drastically down from February, when it racked up 20m installs.
