Babayigit steps down as Tripledot COO

Tripledot cofounder and COO Akin Babayigit is stepping down from the day-to-day running of the business.

Babayigit will remain on the board, he said on LinkedIn, having cofounded the company alongside CEO Lior Shiff and chief games officer Eyal Chameides over seven year ago.

Tripledot is now home to over 500 staff across seven offices worldwide, says Babayigit, who added that the firm’s games have over 60m MAU and that the company is “highly profitable” and “on track for a record revenue year”.

From March 2022: ‘Tripledot has $116m for M&A – so how’s it going to spend it?‘.

“We’ve also launched multiple hit games – Woodoku, Solitaire, Triple Tile, and Tile Dynasty – in an industry where many struggle to deliver even one success,” he said. “Together, we’ve built a global gaming powerhouse right here in London, UK.”

“In the process of becoming a large company, I’ve come to realize that my true “flow-state” is the ‘0-to-1’ phase of a company’s journey. That’s where I feel most energized and at my best,” he continued.

“So after much consideration, I realised that change is the only constant in life, I have decided to take a step back from the day-to-day operations of [Tripledot Studios].”

All three of Tripledot’s cofounders were listed in the Sunday Times ‘gaming rich list’ published back in August. The Woodoku maker raised $116m back in 2022 to acquire companies and grow further, most recently adding the Live Play Mobile team to its ranks for an undisclosed fee.
