The Elder Scrolls: Blades has quietly been removed from the App Store and Google Play, and its servers will be closing down on June 30.
As spotted by Reddit users, in-game currency will be discounted for the remaining players until the game’s servers are closed.
Bethesda does not appear to have made any public statement about the closure of the game on any of its social media channels. In fact, all dedicated pages about the game appear to have been removed from Bethesda.net, including the game’s official FAQ and the blog announcing the game from 2018.
We have asked Bethesda for a comment and if there have been any layoffs as a result of the game’s closure. We will update this story if we receive a response.
Appmagic estimates suggest The Elder Scrolls Blades earned Bethesda around $13.5m from ~11.9m installs since its launch in March 2019.
The vast majority of the game’s lifetime revenue – nearly 70% – came from the US market, with other countries like Germany, UK, Canada and France accounting for just 3-5% of the total player spend. It was a similar picture by downloads, with 40% of players installing the game in the US and other nations making up low single digits percentages.

Fallout Shelter is the top performing Bethesda game by far, according to Appmagic estimates. The data platform’s figures suggest that Fallout Shelter has earned Bethesda over $135m in IAP from over 87m downloads since it launched in 2015.
