Coin Master maker Moon Active has cut “dozens” of staff, says report

Moon Active has laid off “dozens” of staff, according to a report in the Israeli tech press.

Ctech reports that the staff cuts affect employees at its HQ in Israel and also across other offices, though it’s not clear exactly how many layoffs are slated and how they are distributed across the firm’s locations. We’ve asked Moon Active for clarification.

The report notes that Moon Active also has a large presence in Kyiv, Ukraine, plus offices in Romania, Belarius and Lithuania. It employs around 2,500 people in total, and runs several lucrative titles including Coin Master, Travel Town, Zen Match and Family Island.

Moon Active ranked 12th in Appmagic’s list of 2024’s top grossing publishers, with an estimated $977m in IAP earnings from last year.

From September 2022: ‘Coin Master is the $3bn game no-one seems to talk about’.

Ctech also appears to have sourced a statement from the firm which confirms there has been an “an organizational restructuring” at Moon Active.

The statement obtained by Ctech reads: “The company has grown significantly in recent years, completing several mergers and acquisitions, and ended 2024 with record revenues exceeding $2 billion. In the first quarter of 2025, an organizational restructuring was implemented to align the company’s structure with its strategy.”

We’ve asked Moon Active for comment on the matter and will update this story if they offer any response.
