Mobile generated $108bn in 2025, 55% of the games market

The mobile games market generated $108bn in revenue during 2025, according to Newzoo. Mobile takes up 55% of the total games market by revenue, beating console and PC combined, and earnings are up 7.7% year-on-year.

By 2028, Newzoo forecasts that mobile games will generate around $122.7bn in revenue, representing 54% of the global total. That’s a CAGR of 4.5% between 2025 and 2028.
Tencent, LastWar and Roblox top 2025 charts

Sensor Tower data reported by Gamesindustry.biz suggests Tencent was both the biggest publisher by revenue ($8.75bn) and downloads (1.41bn) for 2025.
Scopely took a distant second place in the revenue charts, bringing in $2.96bn for the year, while Azur Interactive was the second best performer when it came to downloads, with 1.02bn installs.
Last War: Survival was the highest revenue generator in the mobile games sector last year, bringing in $2.12bn; second place went to Whiteout Survival, which yielded $1.33bn. By downloads, Roblox took the top spot with 288m installs for the year. Second place went to Block Blast with 284m downloads.
Mobile downloads to return to pre-pandemic levels in 2026

Sensor Tower predicts that mobile downloads will be down to pre-pandemic levels during 2026. The data firm’s predictions for the year have the sector hitting 11.3bn downloads during Q3, the first time that downloads have reached this level since Q3 2019. Sensor Tower says that in an age of expensive UA, big companies with deep pockets stand to gain the most.
NCSoft invests $104m in Singapore’s Indygo Group

Korean giant NCSoft has acquired a 67% stake in Singapore’s Indygo Group, which owns Vietnam-based Lihuhu, maker of Match Triple 3D, Tiles In Hole and Triple Find. The deal is worth KRW153.4bn (~$104m).
NCsoft has also acquired Korean casual merge specialist developer, Springcomes, for an undisclosed sum. Springcomes is the maker of Hello Town and Merge Sweets.
The moves follow NCSoft opening a mobile casual arm with Tripledot veteran Anel Ceman at the helm in August of last year.
Merge Mansion hits $760.6m lifetime revenue

Helsinki-based Metacore has revealed that Merge Mansion has hit $760.6m in lifetime revenue. The game has been downloaded over 63m times, too. The company now boasts 295 members of staff from 48 countries around the world.
Net sales down 2.5% at Mag Interactive for 24-25

Swedish games firm Mag Interactive has reported SEK276m ($29.9m) in net sales for the 2024/25 financial year. That’s a 2.5% decrease year-on-year, though a smaller dip than the 21.8% decline the company saw the previous year. Mag saw 4.7m downloads for the year and 9.5m unique players.

The newly-released Crozzle has contributed to a $1 increase in Mag Interactive’s ARPDAU, which rose to hit $7.5 last year. In Q4, average spending per daily active user rose to $9.5.
Mobile games made £1.88bn in the UK last year

Data from the UK’s Entertainment Retailers Association (ERA) shows that mobile games represented £1.881bn of consumer spending during 2025.
That’s an 8.8% increase year-on-year, following 5.5% of growth between 2023 and 2024. Mobile games comprised 35% of total consumer spending on games in 2025.
Mattel163 has over 550m players

PocketGamer reports that Mattel163, the studio created via a partnership between NetEase and Mattel, has an audience of over 550m people. These users have played more than 65m matches across its suite of titles, which includes Uno Mobile.
