Jobs weekly: Google, Wooga, ActiBlizz roles filled as more move on from Seriously

As reported by Variety, YouTube has a new global head of gaming: Leo Olebe, who moves from his previous role as managing director for games partnerships at Google Play. As Variety notes in its report, Olebe takes over from Ryan Wyatt, who left for crypto firm Polygon earlier this year.

Elsewhere at Google, Sue Ann Goh has stepped up to become strategic partner development manager at Google Play, having moved up through the ranks since joining from Facebook in 2016. 

Martin Müller has moved into a new role at Playtika-owned Wooga – the former ops VP is now games VP. 

Activision Blizzard is staffing up on its Call of Duty mobile games; Felicia Sharpe and Chelsea Salac are now both new product marketing coordinators on COD: Mobile and Warzone Mobile.

Another batch of former Seriously folks announced their new roles this week. Kaisa Knaappila moved from her role as art director at the Best Fiends maker to Netflix-owned Next Games, where she’s now company art director. Also making the switch to Next is Maaren Rekola, who takes up a role as systems specialist.

Two more: former Seriously motion artist Kim Suponin is now marketing creative at Lightheart Entertainment, and former game economy manager Jussi Enqvist is now at Rovio as senior economy designer.

Subway Surfers maker and new arm of Miniclip Sybo has a new concept artist, Diana Dementeva, and a new junior designer, Nicolai Wenceslaus Kriesz. Fingersoft created a new senior role for Teemu Väisänen, its former lead programmer – Väisänen is now game development technical director.

As ever, Scopely welcomed plenty of new faces: former Mythical Games senior game designer Samuel Stoddard is now lead product manager on web3 projects, Fernando Sauce Gonzalez moves over from a role in QA at 2K Games to become live ops specialist, new ad monetisation business manager Georgina King joins from Tripledot, level designer Dani Rodriguez Garcia joins from Rovio and Martin Goni Torres is the new localisation producer.

Fingersoft’s Teemu Väisänen, Scopely’s Samuel Stoddard, Rovio’s Emilia Rantala, Applovin’s Emily Wong, Rollic’s Tuluğhan Ata.

At Miniclip, Meghan Court is the new senior UA specialist, Will Burnham is now senior user acquisition lead and Victor Carvalho Tavernari is senior iOS engineer. 

Rovio’s new senior investor relations manager is Emilia Rantala, Emily Wong is now associate project manager at Applovin, Farhan Haq is now head of UA and monetisation at Carry1st and at King, Suhaib Dehneh has joined as VFX artist and video editor. 

At Kwalee, Connor Jones is now junior publishing scout and Sunil Ramachandran is the new junior finance executive. Hen Lachmani moves from Plarium to Wildlife Studios where she’s the new marketing CI lead, and Tuluğhan Ata has stepped up to new senior product manager at Rollic.
