Combined lifetime downloads of the ~100 games released on Netflix total nearly 300m, according to Appmagic data sourced and analysed by mobilegamer.biz.
As of March 12 2025, lifetime installs for Netflix games stand at just over 295m downloads according to the data. Netflix’s top performing title GTA: San Andreas is close to the 40m mark with 39.7m downloads since launch in December 2023.
New release Squid Game: Unleashed has quickly become the platform’s second most-downloaded game, with an estimated 18.8m installs to date. It was released ahead of the hit show’s second season in December 2024, and is available to all mobile players, whether they are a Netflix subscriber or not.
Annapurna’s Storyteller continues to perform well on the service too, with nearly 18m downloads to date.

GTA: Vice City remains Netflix’s seventh most-downloaded title to date with 9.5m installs, despite being removed from the service in December 2024. Rockstar’s GTA III was removed at the same time, having racked up 4.1m downloads.
Netflix games lifetime downloads: 11-20
11. Netflix Stories (Boss Fight): 7.1m
12. Scriptic (Electric Noir): 6.1m
13. Stranger Things: 1984 (BonusXP): 5.9m
14. Sonic Mania Plus (Lab 42): 5.2m
15. Too Hot To Handle 3 (Nanobit): 4.6m
16. Sonic Prime Dash (Sega Hardlight): 4.55m
17. Solitaire (MobilityWare): 4.2m
18. Too Hot To Handle 2 (Nanobit): 4.1m
19. GTA III (Rockstar): 4.1m
20. Stranger Things 3 (Bonus XP): 4m
Outside the top ten, Netflix users appear mostly interested in familiar brands, family-friendly titles and narrative-led games. There are two Sonic games in the 11-20 bracket above, a straightforward Solitaire title and there are four dating/narrative-led titles – Netflix Stories, Scriptic and two games based on hit show Too Hot To Handle.
Clearly, the above lifetime downloads chart is skewed by the amount of time the games have been available, so a look at downloads from the last 30 days (below) tells us what’s trending on the service currently. Again, the below is based on Appmagic estimates.
Outside of expected top two GTA: San Andreas and Squid Game, we can see strategy sim Civilisation VI, released in December 2024, performing well recently in third. Sonic Mania Plus is also a consistent and solid performer, but has not been on the service long enough to trouble the lifetime installs top ten just yet.

The presence of two recently-released romance games, Too Hot To Handle 3 and Secrets by Episode, also shows us the current popularity of more reality TV-type gaming fare aimed at that ‘non-gamer’ audience.
Indeed, outside this top ten, UK studio Ustwo Games may be a little disappointed in Monument Valley 3’s performance to date. Released with quite a bit of fanfare in December 2024, it has just passed 2m downloads in around three months on the service, and is currently in 24th spot in terms of downloads from the last 30 days.
These charts also tell us why Netflix is moving away from gamer-focused indie and double-A fare, and adding more family-friendly or known-IP titles. The bottom three performers by lifetime downloads are original indie games Lucky Luna, Poinpy and Oxenfree II.
The latter title perhaps does not qualify as an indie game any more – it was made by Netflix-owned Night School Studio. Nonetheless, it’s surprising to see a high profile ‘triple-i’ game rock bottom of the downloads list. It generated a little over 300k installs since launch in July 2023, while Lucky Luna and Poinpy are not much further ahead, having launched mid-2022.
