NCsoft to buy 70 per cent stake in rewards firm JustPlay for $204m

NCsoft has bought a 70 per cent stake German mobile rewards platform JustPlay, according to reports in the local press.

Korea’s JoongAng Daily reports that the deal is worth $204.8m, or 301.6bn Won. The deal is expected to close on April 30.

Berlin-based JustPlay was founded in 2020 and runs a ‘play-to-earn’ business where players are rewarded for playing mobile games with cash or vouchers. Appmagic estimates that the company’s app, JustPlay: Earn Money or Donate, has over 33m installs to date.

NCsoft said in August 2025 that it would be moving into mobile, starting with a new casual gaming division and the appointment of former Outfit7, Wildlife and Tripedot exec Anel Ceman.

In November 2025, NCsoft announced it is collaborating with Sony to launch mobile-first MMO Horizon Steel Frontiers.
