Playrix’s Igor and Dmitry Bukhman are up to 27th in the Sunday Times Rich List

The cofounders of Playrix are the 27th richest people in the UK, according to the Sunday Times Rich List. Brothers Igor and Dmitry Bukhman have an estimated personal fortune of over £6.3bn, according to the newspaper.

The Rich List says that their wealth has grown by over £500m in the last year, meaning the duo have risen from 34th place in 2023’s rankings to 27th this year.

The annual Sunday Times Rich List estimates the fortunes of the wealthiest people living in the UK every year. The 2024 edition places the Playrix brothers a little below the businesspeople who run the likes of Bet365, Ineos Group, Asos and JD Sports.

The Bukhman brothers are listed as being wealthier than the likes of former Royal Mail and Sainsbury’s boss Daniel Kretinsky, Metro Bank’s Jaime Bacal and Monster Beverage’s Hilton Schlosberg.

The Bukhman brothers are also estimated to have a fortune far greater that Sir Richard Branson, whose wealth is estimated to be around £2.4bn. And they are far wealthier than the King, who has an estimated fortune of £610m, and prime minister Rishi Sunak, who alongside his wife is worth over £650m.

Elsewhere in the list, Playtech gambling software mogul Teddy Sagi ranks 46th with a fortune of £4bn, and Improbable cofounder and CEO Herman Narula is in 214th place with £780m.

Earlier this year, Bloomberg reported that Igor Bukhman had bought a second mansion in Kensington, west London, for around £24m. It is situated next to another property he bought in 2019 for over £45m. Bukhman was reported to be renovating the two houses.

From October 2022: ‘Playrix is relocating 1500 Russian staff, closing operations there “as soon as possible”‘.

The Bukhman brothers also run a personal investment firm called Rix Capital, which Bloomberg says manages around $4bn in assets. A 2022 Forbes profile of Igor Bukhman offered a rare insight into Playrix as a company at the beginning of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

As we reported later in October 2022, Playrix embarked upon a colossal staff relocation program that began in April of that year.

It moved around 1,500 staff from Russia to new and existing offices in Ireland, Cyprus, Portugal, Serbia, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Turkey. It also said it would close all operations in Russia and Belarus. The company is headquartered in Dublin, Ireland.
