Here are the top mobile game downloads from last month, according to Appmagic data.
Appmagic’s estimates do not include numbers from China’s fractured Android market. There’s commentary on September’s most notable trends from the top 20 and beyond below.
Roblox tops the download chart for September despite dropping to its lowest monthly install total since November 2023. Last month’s estimated 16.2m downloads is way down on July and August’s ~20m installs, but still enough to – narrowly – beat Ludo King to the top spot.
Gametion’s Ludo title is a model of consistency, registering its third straight month of generating ~16m monthly downloads.
Block Blast posts its third straight month of gentle monthly download growth, passing 15m installs in a month for the first time since peaking in January and February.
New hit My Supermarket Simulator 3D is still rising, up significantly on the 8.7m downloads it attracted in August to fourth spot overall with 14.2m installs for September. An impressive feat for an Android-only game – top markets for this one are Indonesia, Brazil, Russia, Mexico and Turkey.
July and August’s top download Offline Games tumbles down to fifth spot this month. Though of course September’s 13.7m downloads is a great total for small indie developer JindoBlu, it’s some way off the monster 34.6m downloads it achieved in July, when it seemed to have cracked some secret ASO or UA code.
Subway Surfers had a minor wobble in September, dropping from its usual ~15m-ish monthly download total to just over 12m. And Pizza Ready continues to come down from its peak in April, when it hit 25.3m installs – it’s the second month running it has posted just over 11m downloads.
It’s actually hard to tell whether Garena’s baffling two-tier Free Fire strategy is paying off…is it a good thing to have two nearly identical games attracting over 11m downloads in a month? Or would it be preferable and more efficient to run just one much larger game? Either way, each title is pretty steady in terms of monthly installs, with both having hovered around the 11m mark for several months running.
Falcon Game Studio’s Satisroom: Perfectly Organize is a sorting/cleaning game that taps into the same feeling as the likes of PowerWash Simulator or indie hit Unpacking. It was actually released in July, but suddenly jumped up the rankings last month to hit just under 11m – a pretty good start for an Android-only game from a relatively unknown developer.

King’s Candy Crush Saga was once a consistent presence in the top ten, regularly posting monthly download figures between 11-14m, but that’s no longer the case. Appmagic’s figures suggest it’s been posting around 9m installs monthly since August 2023, only passing the 10m mark once in that time. Revenue is very solid, though, so hardly time to hit the panic button at King.
Voodoo’s Hole.io appears to be on the comeback trail with a third consecutive month of download growth – it last peaked back in 2018, believe it or not.
The entry of Zupee: Play Ludo Online in 14th with 8.2m downloads shows that Ludo King doesn’t have the clearly very large Ludo market to itself any more. Zupee is ahead of Brawl Stars, Build A Queen and EA FC Mobile, all of which are up several spots in the rankings this month.
Like Hole.io, blast from the past Count Masters stormed up the rankings by 280 spots this month, having last peaked in June 2021 with a whopping 41m downloads.
Outside the top 20, there are month-on-month chart rises for Whiteout Survival, Vita Mahjong and Voodoo duo Archery Clash and Paper.io 2, and notable declines for regulars including Fishdom, Wood Screw Puzzle, Bridge Race, Magic Tiles 3, Soccer Superstar, Car Race 3D and Race Master 3D.
