Supercell is under fire for apparently ignoring Jynxzi’s role in Clash Royale’s comeback

Streamer Jynxzi is credited by many, including MrBeast, for kickstarting Clash Royale’s return to the top grossing charts. But Supercell’s narrative around the game’s sudden spike doesn’t mention influencers at all – and Jynxzi isn’t happy.

The influencer-led furore began shortly after Supercell boss Ilkka Paananen posted his annual blog, in which he praised the game’s designers for making player sentiment so positive that its new features could really catch fire.

Jynxzi, a popular and influential streamer who had previously been promoting the game, posted a screengrab of the Clash Royale section of the blog, commenting: “Probably the biggest spit in the face i’ve ever seen”.

In the comments below, MrBeast replied to Jynxzi, saying “I only started playing again because of you”. Many other influencers have also backed Jynxzi’s version of events, and directed their ire at Supercell as a result.

[UPDATE: Supercell has now updated the blog with a new passage apologising for the oversight and acknowledging the creator community. It reads:

Since this blog was posted on 10th February, I’ve seen the reaction to the Clash Royale section and I want to address it directly. In short, I failed to acknowledge the role that creators, pro players, and the broader community played in Clash Royale’s resurgence. That was my mistake — no one else’s — and it runs counter to everything I believe about the impact creators have on our games and our business. I am sorry.

The intent was never to diminish anyone’s contribution, but intent doesn’t matter when the impact is real. I understand why it hurts, and that’s on me.

Throughout 2025, we saw creators self-organizing tournaments, celebrating Royale through art and memes, and reminding millions of people around the world why Clash Royale is special. Creators like Jynxzi returned to the game with incredible passion, investing their own time, money, and energy into bringing Clash Royale back to cultural relevance — and introducing many new players, including some of the biggest names in streaming, to the game. That kind of love for Royale can’t be taken for granted, and it deserves to be acknowledged loudly and clearly.

On the Clash Royale subreddit, users are posting clips from Jynxzi streams that followed Paananen’s annual blog in which he continues to vent his frustrations with the company’s perceived failure to credit his and other streamers’ role in the game’s success.

Supercell didn’t mention “many creators that made the game better,” says Jynxzi in one clip. “The list goes on and on of how many people brought eyes to the game, so it’s not just me.”

He later says: “I don’t care that they didn’t bring up my name…where I draw the line in the sand is when they tried to take credit for the game’s success.”

“If this was the result of the talented team you would have seen explosive growth in years prior. But guess what: you f**king didn’t”.

He continues: “After reading what the f**king CEO of Supercell just said I hope the game f**king dies”.

Jynxzi goes on to say Supercell’s CEO should fire the entire Clash Royale team for implementing the Heroes feature, which he believes is the reason numbers have fallen off in the last few months. He says it is the reason he and other creators have been critical of the game in recent months.

We have asked Supercell for comment and will update if or when it responds.
