The top mobile game downloads of 2025

Here’s Appmagic’s top download chart for 2025.

Remember, these download numbers are estimates, and are rounded up to the nearest million. But they are still broadly indicative of the shape and size of things – read on for the full analysis of the year’s ups and downs below.

No surprise to find that Hungry Studio’s Block Blast is the top download of 2025 – in our regular monthly updates it is sometimes tens of millions of installs ahead of its closest rivals, Roblox and Free Fire.

That monster 368m total for 2025 means it is over 70m downloads ahead of Roblox. Block Blast also easily beat its own record total of 222m in 2024.

Most of Block Blast’s 2025’s downloads came in Indonesia – over 73m of them – with the US second on 36m installs, followed by Vietnam (24m), Brazil (21m) and India (20m). It’s an ad-driven game, so IAP revenue is practically non-existent, but given the scale of this player base, one wonders if adding a few IAPs here and there could be the next step for this game. Though as Hungry Studio told us this time last year, it’ll relentlessly A/B test any changes it does make to the game to ensure it plays well with its massive audience.

Roblox generated many, many more column inches than Block Blast in the last year with cultural phenomena like Grow A Garden and Steal A Brainrot. But it comes in second here with 295m downloads for 2025. It is free to play on PC and consoles too, of course, but most players are on mobile. The market split sees Indonesia top once again with 61.5m installs in 2025, followed by Brazil (27.3m), USA (24m) India (23m) and Mexico (22m).

Year-on-year, Roblox downloads continue to rise – Appmagic says it generated 215m downloads in 2024, and 197m in 2023 – so the UGC platform will be looking to smash that 300m barrier this year, no doubt.

In third spot, Garena’s Free Fire is down year-on-year from 2024’s peak of 294m downloads. Nonetheless, 2025’s total of 287m downloads shows the enduring appeal of battle royale on mobile, especially in outside of the US and Europe – the top markets by downloads were India (73m), Indonesia (43m), Vietnam (23m), Brazil (18m) and Pakistan (15m).

Sybo’s Subway Surfers continues to keep pace with the top contenders, growing year-on-year a little from 187m downloads in 2024 to last year’s 191m. Downloads are incredibly consistent for this one, with the infinite runner posting a similar total in 2023 as well, though it’s way down on its 2022 numbers, when a crazy China spike pushed it to nearly 250m downloads for the year.

Like Subway Surfers, downloads for Supercent’s Pizza Ready has been very steady throughout 2025. But it is down a little year-on-year to 166m after hitting 178m in 2024, when it first arrived in the top downloads listings. India is the top market for this one by far, followed by Indonesia and Brazil.

Sixth-placed Ludo King is also down year-on-year, from 167m downloads in 2024 to 151m last year, another one that sees most of its downloads in India, with Indonesia and Bangladesh a distant second and third.

Vita Mahjong is the biggest new entrant in the top ten, up 123 places year-on-year to finish as the seventh biggest download of 2025. And unlike many of the titles in this top ten, most of its downloads are in the US, with Brazil and India second and third by downloads. Singapore-based Vita Studio has been spending big on UA this year, and it’s clearly worked.

Outfit7’s My Talking Tom 2 has now posted practically the same download numbers in 2024 and 2025, with 122m installs for last year, showing that kids playthings still have their place in the market.

26m of Hole.io’s total 121m downloads for 2025 came from India, its top market by far – that helped this long-running Voodoo game climb the top download chart 24 places year-on-year.

And PUBG Mobile completes 2025’s top ten downloads mostly thanks to consistency – its regular 8-10m downloads per month mean it is way below fellow battle royale Free Fire, is but still attracting millions and millions of new players.
