The top mobile game publishers of 2024 by downloads

Azur Games is the top publisher of 2024 by game downloads, a crown it has claimed for a sixth time in a row. This hyper-hybridcasual powerhouse’s top three titles by downloads in 2024 were Worms Zone .io – Hungry Snake with 68m installs in 2024, followed by Rollance: Adventure Balls (62m) and Bottle Jump 3D (39m).

Azur’s 2024’s downloads were a little down on 2023’s total (1.54bn), and have gently declined overall since it broke 2bn installs in 2021. But what;’s keeping the label on top is its huge catalogue of games that are all racking up millions of downloads. Outside of that top three, it had three titles that got over 30m downloads last year, ten in the 20-30m installs bracket, 32 games that pulled in 10-20m installs and yet more in the 1-10m range.

Supersonic comes second for the third time running, led by evergreen favourites Build A Queen (102m installs in 2024), Going Balls (85m) and Bridge Race (81m). Like the rest of the contenders here, Supersonic downloads were down year-on-year a little from 1.11bn in 2023 to just under 980m last year.

SayGames completes the top trio, also in the same spot for the third year straight. Its portfolio was led in 2024 by My Perfect Hotel (78m downloads), Vehicle Masters (63m) and Tower War (50m). My Perfect Hotel ands Tower War are also notable for pulling in decent IAP revenue – $9.7m and $14m respectively.

Vietnam’s ABI Games Studio rose up the rankings three places, powered by Wood Nuts & Bolts Puzzle, which pulled in 93m installs and even $14m in IAP revenue. Left or Right: Magic Dress Up (51m) and Screw Puzzle: Wood Nut & Bolt (48m) complete the top three performers.

Chinese kids game specialist BabyBus dropped one place in the rankings despite being a fraction up year-on-year. Its top three downloads Baby Panda’s School Bus, Little Panda’s Ice Cream Games and panda games: Town Home all pulled in 30-35m installs each

Miniclip downloads were down a little year-on-year, though if you add in new buy Easybrain’s 195m installs in 2024, it’d be sat in fourth. Subway Surfers led the way on downloads, naturally, with 177m installs in 2024, followed by 8 Ball Pool (119m) and Carrom Pool (52m).

Voodoo downloads are up year-on-year, led by a resurgent Hole.io (78m). The French firm’s second biggest title by downloads Mob Control (73m) also pulled in $27m in IAP spend during 2024. Paper.io 2 was third by downloads with 66m installs in 2024.

Outfit7 somehow ended the year in roughly the same total downloads as 2023 with 697m. Its top three My Talking Tom 2 (116m), My Talking Tom Friends (95m) and My Talking Angela 2 (85m) were compliment by six more titles that pulled in 40-70m downloads during 2024.

The label formerly known as Zego, iKame, saw annual downloads rise thanks to the success of Wood Screw Puzzle (90m), Car Race (84m) and Moto Rider (82m), but it’s also worth mentioning new viral hit Manage Supermarket Simulator too – it pulled in 53m installs last year.

Supercent’s rise into the top ten is all about Pizza Ready, which racked up 171m installs in 2024, followed by Snake Clash (69m) and Outlets Rush (54m). The South Korean firm also had four games in the 20-30m installs bracket, two that got 10-20m downloads and severak more between 1-10m

CrazyLabs saw a year-on-year download drop-off that saw it fall out of the top ten in 2024. Rollic Games saw a bigger decline, dropping from 13th spot in 2023 with 321m installs to 61st in 2024 with 121m.

It’s perhaps also worth noting where some of the other major players are year-on-year: Supercell is 22nd, up 22 places with 239m downloads in 2024; Playrix is down from 19th to 27th with 216m;  Scopely is down to 41 from 22nd with 174m.

King saw a big drop in the rankings for 2024, down to 42nd from 26th spot with 171m downloads, a drop of about 50m installs.
