The US TikTok ban has also resulted in Marvel Snap and several other Bytedance-run games going offline for players in the country.
[Update: Second Dinner has said on X that the game will return for US players “within 24 hours”. Appmagic estimates suggest the US developer will have lost around ~$130k in IAP revenue from the two-day outage. The data suggests Second Dinner earns ~$110k per day from the mobile game, and 60% of its revenue is from US players.]
TikTok parent company Bytedance also owns Marvel Snap publisher Nuverse and Moonton, which owns and operates Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, One Punch Man – The Strongest, Mobile Legends: Adventure and Watcher of Realms.
Marvel Snap publisher Nuverse also runs strategy title Land of Empires: Immortal. These Nuverse and Moonton games have also now disappeared from the US app stores, and even players who already have the games downloaded are unable to play them.
As spotted by The Verge, US developer Second Dinner posted a message to US players in Marvel Snap on Saturday night that read: “Sorry, Marvel Snap isn’t available right now. A law banning Marvel Snap has been enacted in the US. Unfortunately, that means you can’t use Marvel Snap for now. Rest assured, we’re working to restore our service in the US. Please stay tuned!”.

California-based Marvel Snap developer Second Dinner also posted a message on X that reads:
“Unfortunately, Marvel Snap is temporarily unavailable in U.S. app stores and is unavailable to play in the U.S. In a surprise to Second Dinner and our publisher Nuverse, Marvel Snap was affected by the takedown of TikTok late on Saturday, January 18th. Marvel Snap isn’t going anywhere. We’re actively working on getting the game up as soon as possible and will update you once we have more to share.”
