World of Goo is coming to Netflix on May 23

 

2D Boy’s World of Goo is being remastered and released on Netflix.

The award-winning physics puzzler is arriving May 23, and has all the content from the original game, plus cloud saves and freshly updated artwork that’s double the resolution of the original.

World of Goo was originally released in 2008, and won a multitude of awards as part of a new wave of breakout indie titles.

World of Goo is the latest indie hit to be added to Netflix’s growing catalogue, which will have around 40 more games added to it this year. Laya’s Horizon, the new game from Alto’s Adventure maker Snowman, also arrived on the service this week.

Netflix recently announced that it would be re-releasing the Monument Valley games on the service too, while teasing a third title in the series. There’s also a new transmedia project from Super Evil Megacorp on the way.

Its main rival in the mobile subscription space, Apple Arcade, added 20 more games to its catalogue this week, a roster that consists of four brand new titles and 16 reworked titles from the regular App Store.
