Türkiye’s Good Job Games has raised $23m in a seed funding round led by Menlo Ventures and Tripledot co-founder Akin Babayigit’s new games fund Arcadia.
The casual puzzle studio had previously built and then sold Zen Match to Moon Active in December 2022, and has since launched Match Villains and Wonder Blast.
Good Job was founded in 2017, and worked as a hypercasual publisher for its first two years, a period in which it claims its games were downloaded more than 3 billion times. Studio founders Ilker Ilicali and Nazim Akmandil have previously that Good Job was built with no external investment. It now has over 100 staff.
“We now also have great partners in Menlo Ventures and Arcadia supporting our next phase to scale our games and grow our player base,” said Good Job founder and CEO Ilker Ilicali.
Good Job backer Menlo Ventures has previously backed Epic Games, 1047 Games, and Tripledot Studios. Good Job is also the first publicly-announced investment of Arcadia, the new fund led by Tripledot co-founder Akin Babayigit, a name familiar to many in Türkiye’s booming game development scene.
“Good Job Games has stormed the match-3 category with Match Villains, which has incredible long term retention metrics that are rarely seen,” said Babayigit. “They are the real deal and will prove to have staying power. Beyond this, Ilker and Nazim are truly generational entrepreneurs and incredible human beings, so partnering with them for the future was an absolute no-brainer.”
