Hoyoverse’s cosy life sim Petit Planet will launch globally on iOS, Android and PC on December 4, with a Switch 2 version following in 2027.
The Genshin Impact maker announced the release date on October 30, then confirmed the Switch 2 version during a pre-launch livestream on November 1. Progress will carry across mobile and PC at launch.
Billed as Hoyoverse’s first life sim, Petit Planet is a change of pace from Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero, the combat-focused (and hugely successful) games that built its global audience.
Instead, Petit Planet players will spend their time building and decorating their own small planet, farming, fishing and cooking, and visiting friends’ planets at a shared hub called the Galactic Bazaar. They can also earn more than 1,000 clothing and furniture items for free through regular gameplay.
Hoyoverse revealed the game in September 2025 and ran its first closed beta, the Coziness Test, from November 7 that year. A second test, the Stardrift Test, began on April 21, 2026, followed by a final beta in September.
According to AppMagic estimates, Genshin Impact is thought to have generated around $4.1bn on mobile since its 2020 launch, while Zenless Zone Zero and Honkai: Star Rail are estimated to have earned around $358m and $1.5bn, respectively. Across its full portfolio, Mihoyo – known as Hoyoverse outside of China – is thought to have racked up around 457m downloads.
