New game digest: Monster Hunter Outlanders, Warhammer Boltgun Boom, Pixel Gun 2, Pusheen’s Place and more

Monster Hunter Outlanders (Timi/Capcom)

Apple showcased Monster Hunter Outlanders during its keynote earlier this week, and confirmed that the Timi/Capcom collab has Apple-exclusive visual effects on iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. The game will be out later this year, Apple said.

As we reported earlier this week, Azra Games’ lavish RPG UnGodly and Hoyoverse’s Zenless Zone Zero were also used to showcase the newly-revealed iPhone Duo’s gaming capabilities.

Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun Boom (Nitro Games)

Nitro Games has confirmed that Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun Boom is coming to iOS and Android on September 23. Pre-orders are now open on the App Store, and pre-registration is live on Google Play.

Pusheen’s Place leads Apple Arcade’s October line-up

Pusheen’s Place is the first officially licensed Pusheen the Cat game and launches as an Apple Arcade exclusive on October 1. It’s a cosy life sim where players build a Pusheen-themed hangout and decorate rooms for characters including Pusheenicorn and Pancake Pusheen.

Apple also several other titles being added to its Arcade service on October 1. River City Survivors is a Vampire Survivors-like spin on the long-running beat ’em up series, while Terraria+, Touchgrind BMX 2+ and 4 Pics 1 Word+ are existing mobile games coming to Arcade with their IAPs and/or ad monetisation removed.

Pixel Gun 2 (Cubic Games)

Cubic Games has launched Pixel Gun 2 globally on iOS and Android, a new entry in the series that according to Cubic Games has passed over 300m downloads.

Absolum (Playdigious)

Pre-orders are now open on the App Store and Google Play for the Playdigious-published Absolum, a roguelite beat ’em up developed by Dotemu, Guard Crush Games, and Supamonks. It’s slated to launch on November 5 and will launch for $8.99.

Dig Treasure (Popcore)

Dig Treasure is a casual hidden-object puzzle game where players break apart blocks to uncover buried items. AppMagic suggests it’s in early testing on iOS only.

Paws Out (Rollic)

Rollic’s new puzzle game asks players to drag colour-matched cats through tight spaces to reach their gates. It appears to be in early testing on iOS.

ArrowIt (Supersonic)

ArrowIt, published by Supersonic under Tripledot, has soft-launched on Android in Brazil, Israel and Philippines. It’s a puzzle game where players tap arrows free from a tangled board in the correct order to clear it.

Villain (Triomatica Games)

Triomatica Games has released Villain, a theatre-themed logic puzzler, on iOS and Android. It’s the first chapter of the studio’s upcoming full release I Want to Play the Villain, due in early 2027.

Bobium Brawlers (Studio Atelico)

Studio Atelico has opened a closed beta for Bobium Brawlers, a turn-based card and dice creature-battler built around an on-device AI engine. It’s currently only playable on iOS in the Philippines ahead of a wider rollout to North America and Europe.
