Playtika calls off sale search as Q3 revenue holds flat at $674m

Playtika’s revenue was flat year-on-year at $673.8m in the three months to September 30, according to its latest results, and down 7.8% on Q2. Net income rose 3% to $40.4m.

As part of its financial report, the company also confirmed it has concluded its strategic review and will remain an independent, publicly traded company.

The Israeli mobile games company announced the review on April 6, with Morgan Stanley appointed as financial advisor. Playtika said its board had decided that staying independent “best positions the company to create long-term value for shareholders”.

“With the strategic review complete, we are moving forward as an independent company,” said CEO Robert Antokol.

Adjusted EBITDA hit a record $252.1m, up 16% year-on-year, with a margin of 37.4%. Playtika said marketing “stepped down as planned” during the quarter, with sales and marketing spend falling 19% to $167.8m.

D2C revenue grew 31% to $275.1m, or 41% of the total, while revenue from third-party platforms fell 14%.

But Playtika’s audience is shrinking. Average daily active users fell 13% to 7.1m, and monthly active users dropped from 26.4m to 21.5m. Daily paying users were down 6% to 333,000, though average revenue per daily active user rose from $0.89 to $1.03.

Disney Solitaire, from Playtika’s SuperPlay studio, made $111.2m, up 88% year-on-year but down 22% on Q2. June’s Journey grew 12% to $76.6m. Bingo Blitz made $133m, down 18%.

Playtika has paid out $350m in contingent consideration for past acquisitions so far this year, and still has $450m of it on its balance sheet. “We set a plan for 2026, and we are delivering on it,” said CFO Tae Lee. “We intend to build on that discipline by strengthening our balance sheet.”

Playtika reaffirmed its full-year guidance of $2.75bn to $2.85bn in revenue and $750m to $790m in adjusted EBITDA, and now expects to land around the midpoint of both.
