Supercell has confirmed Squad Busters will be removed from the App Store and Google Play on December 1 and stop being playable on December 14.
The developer said players who already have the game installed can keep playing until December 14, with all events and timers ending on that date.
Supercell announced the end of Squad Busters development last October, stating that it expected to close the game at some point in 2026. In-app purchases have been switched off since then, and the window to transfer purchase value to other Supercell games closed at the end of 2025.
The developer said it could not see “a clear path forward” for the game after several reworks, including its Heroes update. It said further changes would have made it almost a completely new game.
Squad Busters launched worldwide in May 2024. AppMagic estimates put its lifetime revenue at about $67.9m from 58.6m downloads, with the US accounting for 30% of spending. That works out at an estimated $1.16 in revenue per download globally.
The company has also ruled out offline play, private servers and releasing the code, saying the game contains content and characters from across its other titles.
Supercell said earlier this year that the Squad Busters team remains at the company, with most already helping other teams.
It follows two other mobile closures announced this month: Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Mobile and Fingersoft’s Lego Hill Climb Adventures.
