Venmo is now available as a payment option on Google Play, giving Android users another way to pay for apps, games and digital content.
Users can link their Venmo account – balance or a connected payment method – directly to Google Play to pay for in-game purchases, manage subscriptions and tip creators.
Google and Venmo are pitching it as extending Venmo’s existing “secure, fast and social” experience to Play Store purchases specifically.
To set it up, users add Venmo as a payment method from within the Google Play Store’s payment settings.
Last month, Google Play games GM Aurash Mahbod explained to us some of the thinking behind Google’s complex new fee structure, which has already rolled out in the UK, US and EU, and is coming to more markets soon.
