YouTube has quietly rolled out Playables to over 50 markets

YouTube’s tentative move into webgaming has continued with the expanded rollout of its Playables games across the EU and Nordics.

YouTube gaming partnerships manager Joel Jansson confirmed on LinkedIn that Playables have now been rolled out to over 50 markets, now including the Nordics and EU. Playables were introduced to just seven markets when they were announced back in 2024.

In the comments underneath Jansson’s post, he adds that Google is also aiming to “test IAP solutions during 2027.”

Many YouTube Playables show play counts in the tens of millions. At the time of writing, YouTube says mobile games ported over to the web like Build A Queen, Snake Clash and Stealth Master has been played over 90m times and Supersonic’s Tall Man Run has 106m plays.

Titles from mobile game makers including SayGames, Supercent, Supersonic, Voodoo, Playgama, TapNation and CrazyLabs are currently being highlighted by YouTube as being among the most popular in its Playables selection.

As we reported previously, Google has been trialling instant-play webgames within YouTube since 2023. Developers including Rovio, Voodoo, Zeptolab, Homa, Azur and FRVR were part of that first Playables trial. In May 2024, the tech giant confirmed publicly that it was adding 75 Playables to YouTube, and supporting the titles in seven markets.

It spotlighted titles like Angry Birds Showdown, Cut The Rope, Tomb of the Mask, Trivia Crack and Words of Wonders in the announcement. These games were initially rolled out in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, India, Malaysia and Türkiye.

In September 2025, YouTube added live-streaming and chat functionality to Playables, but there have been no further official updates on Playables since.

We have asked Google for further comment and confirmation and will update this story if they respond.
