Ubisoft has confirmed to us that it has cancelled its puzzle and decorate game, Gwen’s Getaway.
The game has been in soft launch since September 2023, and will be pulled from app stores on December 16. “Until then, players have the chance to complete their experience with the game, making the most of their remaining in-game currency, as well as any purchases they have made,” a Ubisoft spokesperson told us.
“Looking ahead, though, we want to assure you that all the work that went into creating Gwen’s Getaway will be valued and taken forward to both on-going and future projects,” the statement continued.
“Our studio remains committed to actively exploring opportunities to stay at the forefront of cross-platform technology and projects. We will work closely with our colleagues across Ubisoft to deliver some of the company’s biggest and most beloved brands and are excited to share more about this in the future.”

Gwen’s Getaway was in development at Ubisoft RedLynx, the Helsinki studio led by former Grand Cru and Fingersoft exec Celine Pasula. She told us in October 2023 that RedLynx is involved in the development of multiple projects across platforms, and had built a team of both experienced puzzle game veterans and new talent to work on Gwen’s Getaway. Pasula also said RedLynx was not working on any new entry in the Trials series at that time.
Ubisoft has also recently paused the rollout of new soft launch territories for Rainbow Six Mobile, and delayed the launch of The Division Mobile and Assassin’s Creed Jade into 2025.
It also closed the studio formerly known as Future Games of London in October 2023, shortly after rebranding the Hungry Shark maker as Ubisoft London.
