505 Games acquires Marvel Puzzle Quest publisher D3 Go

505 Games has acquired D3 Go, the publisher of Marvel Puzzle Quest.

It follows 505’s deal for Infinity Plus Two, the Australian creator of the Puzzle Quest series, and means that 505 now has complete control of the franchise. D3 Go also operates a Magic: The Gathering-themed Puzzle Quest title. No fee or terms were revealed as part of the deal.

505 Games said it will invest in all existing D3 Go games as it becomes part of 505’s free to play portfolio, which has several projects currently in development. D3 Go’s team, based in Encino, California will now join up with the 505 Games crew in Calabasas, CA.

“D3 Go has done a brilliant job bringing some of the biggest Puzzle Quest titles to market, and it was a natural fit for us to welcome them into the 505 Games family, building on our library of owned IP,” said head of free to play at 505 Games Clive Robert.

“This acquisition marks the second for us in only two years as we continue our dedication to growing the F2P business unit and bringing to gamers the best there is to offer – from original games, to powerhouse licenses and beyond.”
