EA has soft launched Battlefield Mobile in five markets.
The beta has begun in The Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore, and is exclusive to Google Play.
“Battlefield Mobile is free-to-download and will feature its own Battle Passes, collectible cosmetics, and unlockables unique to this mobile game,” said EA studio Industrial Toys. “Any items available for purchase are cosmetic only and do not impact or affect gameplay or player performance.”
The game will not have any cross-play or cross-progression with its PC and console counterparts, EA also confirmed. Here’s some footage of the beta:
This early edition of the game currently includes Conquest and Rush modes, has rideable vehicles and includes familiar maps like Battlefield 3’s Noshahr Canals and Grand Bazaar.
EA was also keen to stress that the game is being built purely for mobile, with no crossover between the teams working on the PC and console games.
“Battlefield Mobile is a standalone title being developed by Industrial Toys, led by industry veteran Alex Seropian,” said EA. “We’ve built a dedicated team here at Industrial Toys filled with mobile game development experts leading the creation of Battlefield Mobile and we’re excited to get the game into our players’ hands.”
